I am now going to start looking into some competitor analysis. This is so i can see what other apps are doing to resolve a similar issue as to what i have discovered. I have already found that there are already a couple of university based apps like this already so i will have a look into them ones first.

Queens Online App

The first app that i looked into was then one ran by Queens University. It’s not great. On the main landing page it gives you the option to look at an, About Us, Welcome Centre, Seamus Heaney Centre and a few other things that might be worth looking at for some of the Queens students. Except when you click on any of them options it just directs you to the Queens website so the app is really actually quite pointless as you can just look them up online in the first place and you will have the same result.

MyStudyLife

MyStudyLife is a good and free academic planner app which is designed to help students and lecturers organise their schedules, assignments, and exams efficiently. I thought that when i was exploring this app that it was very nice to navigate through and that it has lots of useful resources that are similar to the ones that i am hoping to include in the prototype that i am creating.

Microsoft To Do

Microsoft To Do is a task management app that is pretty much designed to help users stay organised by creating lists, setting reminders, and managing daily tasks. It helps students stay on top of assignments, deadlines, and daily study goals and it allows easy organisation of coursework and group projects while keeping everything in one place with the ability of cross-device syncing.

I could definitely see why people would use this as it appears to look very helpful with helping to keep organisation aswell as it sending out some notifications aswell for the things that are needing doing.
