For the start of this ideation segment of the major project, i began by making two different mindmaps. One of them focussing on topics of personal interest and stuff that i would like to see made myself, and the other being more off of leading industries. From these i picked out some of the ideas that i was more leaning towards and moved on to refining some of them ideas through a digital mindmap.
I picked three ideas from my two mind maps to move further with - them being Sports, Travel and City Life. I chose them three because i pretty much thought there is a lot of different opportunities when it comes to creating something new as there is such a wide demographic involved in each and they are relevant to all kinds of ages.
One of the connections that i made in the second mind map was with Golf and the running app Strava. I went to look further into that and if they could somehow be combined firstly - here is a look at the mind map i made for this idea,
I thought after doing that mindmap that this would actually be a really good idea, as golf is now a more popular sport than ever and especially now with lots of the younger demographic getting involved a product or app like this that features some fun elements of the sport but also some handy details involved would be great.
For the second re-defined idea i had was for travel, in the first broad mindmap i made on paper i jotted down ‘Travel Planning’, and if there could be something that makes the whole travelling process simpler,
With lots of people who tend to get rather stressed out when it comes to travelling, a product like this would be helpful. Something that keeps the likes of Tickets/Boarding Passes in the same place. Reservations which might go missing in your emails could be safely stored. One of the other features which would come in handy would be for business expenses, by keeping the receipts stored rather than holding onto a physical copy the entire trip.
For the third one i thought there was another connection between ‘Safer Travel’ & ‘City Life’.
For this third idea i thought adding an A.I feature would be quite helpful to the service, as it could help with planning the likes of your day to day itinerary as-well as looking for safe and alternative travelling routes throughout whichever city the user is in.
