Now that i have got the writing part of my cv done and i will look into some layouts that people have previously used, i am going to go down a path that does not include much colour, I think CV’s just look a lot neater when there is not colour involved.
The first CV layout i looked at was this,
I like the approach to this design especially in the way of the two columns, the minimal use of colour is also something which i think helps it. The only problem that i noticed with this is the lack of consistency in the alignment and the fact that there is a-lot of white space in-between the name and the rest of the CV.
The second one i viewed was this,
This layout also includes the same two column approach as the one that i looked at before, overall i think it is a pretty good CV and i cant really notice any problems with this one. The only thing that i would change would be the big ‘E’ in the top left which i can only assume is their personal brand but it could probably do with just not being there.
The final one i looked into was this one,
I think of the three i have looked out i think this one is over all the neatest of them, again with the same two column approach, the only thing that i would change is the top header, i would personally have that aligned to the left of the screen as opposed to the middle but, overall i think it is very good.
To find these examples i used this website,
https://www.coursera.org/articles/ux-designer-resumes-and-a-template
This was a very helpful website because aswell as showing all of these examples it also give me some tips on what i can learn and take away from looking at each of the CV’s.
By looking into all of these CV examples i have learned quite a-lot the main one being that a quite popular approach to laying out your CV is to have it in two columns with one describing stuff like experience and the other listing some sort of achievements and skills.
