At the end of my first year of interaction design, i was asked to give myself a head start too my second year by creating my own portfolio website over the summer break. So to do that i will firstly need to look into different kind of designs and layouts that other designers have created to help inspire me with some good ideas towards creating my own.

One of the first portfolios i came across was this one,

At first glance i thought that overall it was quite a plain looking landing page, but i like how she listed all of the projects that she worked on all in different boxes which then navigate you to the pages with the actual case studies behind them.

She also included a very detailed ‘About Me’ section in the website which is something i think everyone should really have when it comes to making portfolios, so i will obviously include this in mine but i think i could get mine to look a little more exciting and overall better than this page.

Aswell as the ‘About Me’ section there is also a straightforward looking contact page, again i think that this is a necessary element that should be included in a portfolio.

I think overall that this is a good portfolio website, because she was displaying the most important part of the portfolio in all of the case studies for the projects quite nicely. The two thinks that i liked the most was the minimal use of colour throughout and also the sticky navigation bar.

Here is the second example of a portfolio i found,
