Now that i have finished the whole research stage of this project and having gathered a good amount of inspiration off of the car dashboards, i will start to look at doing some sketches for the UI dashboard on an Autonomous Vehicle.
I started off by sketching the outside of the car,
I sketched out a quick idea for how the inside of the car might look, i included the interactive windscreen that i talked about which will feature all of the entertainment aspects, with the sensor on top reading any potential danger which might be upcoming.
This second sketch i focused on the view of inside the car,
Home Screen
I started off sketching out some ideas for the layout of my autonomous dashboard, i started off with the main home screen, this is what i have came up with so far.
I tried to get as much necessary elements into this one screen, i quite like the way that i layed it out to begin with. I liked having the navigation up on the top left aswell as the date and time in the top right. The main feature for this screen is the map, as it would show the whereabouts of the vehicle aswell as the route it is taking.
Entertainment Screen
I could really think of many ways in which to lay out this particular screen, the main difference is the navigation between the different services. With it in the first sketch the apps going left to right or in the second there is a drop down which lets you see all the rest of the apps, the main reason behind this is because i thought having a full screen with only apps might be a bit to cluttered looking
