The brief for this project is for me to design 3 different screens for a smartwatch app, whether it is too track your exercise or health or also to be able to keep track of whatever it is you might need too.
I started the project by taking part in an exercise that involved mind mapping, the main idea was to jot down a lot of different types of industries and sectors and try and match to types together from separate places.
I mainly targeted all different kinds of industries and topics really to begin with and i tried to expand in some of them ideas, i was happy with the idea of heading towards a more sports based idea because i feel there is a lot to work with especially in this day and age with a lot of sports becoming more and more popular it would be good to have an extra sports app that you can look at with just your watch.
But i also took a liking to having the idea of a travel service, whether it was for a bus or train or even whenever you are in need of a taxi or an Uber, and i think that this would work really well because they are things that millions of people use every day so it would be good if i can design something that makes it a lot easier for you to travel.
Overall i think i came up with two really good ideas with the first one being based off of a taxi/Uber service, where with a simple click of a button the watch will search for near-by drivers who are free to collect you and with that it also would send them your precise location and the jobs done. I think that this would be a really smart thing to create as you can often find yourself standing in a taxi rank waiting or constantly phoning and searching where as the watch will do it for you.
I then went onto researching the key problems in which you might come across in this modern age when waiting or calling a taxi.
I found that normal taxi services can often be difficult to book, especially when they are compared to app-based services like ‘Uber’ and ‘Lyft’. Issues include difficulty in finding a taxi, unreliable phone booking systems, or the absence of convenient taxi apps.
I done some brief sketch’s to find which layouts i think will work best, overall i ended up with some good ideas and layouts which are going to help me greatly with the overall development of the project
After these sketch’s i completed a user flow sketch out just to show what order the user would end up using the app to find the right outcome.
