In the first week of this new module, we spent most of our time discussing what we would be working on from here now to the end of the semester, and also the main problem with healthcare in Northern Ireland.
One of the main issues that is facing HSCNI is the strain on its health and social care services due to increasing demand, staff shortages, and old systems due to this many of its digital products are making it difficult to share patient information efficiently across different services. This can lead to delays in care, bad communication, and problems in resource allocation.
We also spoke about different design thinking processes, that would be able to play effective for when i am needing to begin research on my project and also when i am doing work in the future.
One of the research processes we were introduced too was the Double Diamond
The Double Diamond design thinking process is a simple way to solve problems creatively. It has four stages and looks like two diamonds side by side, representing divergent and convergent thinking.
The four main stages to the thinking process would be,
Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver
The Stanford Design Thinking Process Diagram is a visual representation of the five-step design thinking process developed by Stanford University's d.school. It outlines a human centered approach to problem-solving, which will be often used in UX design, innovation, and business strategy.
