In the first lecture for this module we spent it going over the future of design in different forms of technology.
Unlike Industry 4.0, which was mainly focused on automation and smart technology, Industry 5.0 brings humans back into it because it is mainly focused on working alongside robots and AI to create more customised solutions.
Ai In Industry 5.0
In the industry 5.0 there is AI-powered robots that will work alongside human workers, which is there to be improving efficiency while allowing creativity and also problem-solving.
AI is becoming a massive factor and is beginning to transform the design industry by it improving creativity and personalising user experiences. Some designers use AI-powered tools like Adobe Sensei and Chat GPT’s DALL-E to make visual components and too automate repetitive tasks. AI also helps with layout suggestions, colour selections, and typography, which helps when it comes to making design more efficient.
AI is also used in generative design, where it explores countless design possibilities, which is helping industries like architecture, fashion, and product design.
We also looked at the process of design thinking and how it should be demonstrated. IDEO's Design Thinking is a creative problem solving approach that focuses on understanding people’s needs and coming up with innovative solutions.
It follows three main steps, Inspiration where designers research and learn about the problem Ideation, where they brainstorm and create new ideas and Implementation, where they test and bring the best ideas to life.
