In todays class we got into pairs with someone that wasn’t aware of each-others ideas so that everyone could get another opinion on it and also some different ideas and recommendations also.

I was partnered up with Kaley, who’s idea was based around Irish Mythology & Folklore. She is hoping to make an educational style app that includes the likes of,

• A map features where people can look into a specific area / monuments folklore
• Stuff to tie in the links between folklore and factual history/ archaeology e.g The myth of the Dagda and how it corresponds to the winter solstice at newgrange
• And the use of AR / location services to collect tokens/ badges for each site of mythological significance visited (like Pokemon Go, Airbnb location stamp)

I didn’t have any clue about Irish mythology and folklore before going into this workshop and it was the same with Kaley who didn’t really know much about my golf app idea so it was good for both us too try and quickly learn about some new stuff relating to our ideas.

I Performed a small scamper method and SWOT analysis on Kaley’s idea, aswell as coming up with some offshoot ideas, survey questions and a couple of quickly put together brand names.

Kaley then done the same for my idea, using the scamper method, brand names, survey questions, offshoot ideas - aswell as doing some problem statements and tone of voice which is nice.

After reading through all the stuff that she mentioned i was actually quite pleased and also a little surprised with some of the new fresher ideas mainly because she didn’t have much idea of golf in general before hand. She also mentioned some things that could be avoided which i probably wouldn’t have thought of which will be helpful to look back on in the coming weeks.

Conclusion

This weeks workshop i thought was brilliant, as it led me to receive new thoughts, ideas and different views on my major project idea which will come to be very helpful when i get into the research and production stage of it.
