Week 4 was spent looking into the design and about different types of logo marks, in which ways that they can be presented and laid out and also in the way about they are designed and put together.
A logo mark, also known as a logo or icon, is a visual element or graphic that represents a brand or company. Unlike a logo that may include both text and imagery, a logo mark is a standalone graphic that conveys the essence of the brand in a simple and memorable way. Logo marks are often used with a word mark or as part of a larger brand identity.
Logo marks are designed to be easily recognisable and also scalable, making them usable for various applications such as websites and apps. Examples of well-known logo marks include the Nike swoosh, the Apple icon, and the Twitter bird. These symbols become associated with the brand and help create a strong visual identity that can be easily identified by consumers.

At the start of the class i was asked to complete a logo-mark styled task. What i was asked to do was to create my names initials using only geometric shapes and to also create an animal of my choice aswell. Instead of just drawing out the letters using just 1 shape i tried to do it differently and find the letter inside of a lot of shapes joined together, here is what i came up with for the two pieces,
I kind of struggled to find a nice way in which i could lay-out the ‘R’ so thats why it is not as good looking as i thought the ‘W’ was. I was overall happy with how the ‘W’ ended up as it was quit a strange design that i went for using the 3 triangles to kind of shape it out. And for the animal i tried to make it look like a bird and i still don’t know if it is.
