This week we spent time looking at how illustration is used in User interface design and how the designers use it effectively in their work.
illustration in UI design refers to the use of visual elements, often drawn or created digitally, to enhance and communicate within a user interface. Illustrations can serve various purposes, such as adding a visual appeal, guiding users, explaining concepts, or creating a unique brand identity.
Some common users of illustrations in UI design include,
Digital Product Designers - UI/UX designers working on the development of websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms often use illustrations.
Graphic Designers - Professionals specialising in graphic design may create custom illustrations for various design projects, including user interfaces, to add a unique and visually appealing touch to the overall design.
Web Design - Agencies that specialise in web design often incorporate illustrations into their projects to create distinctive and memorable user interfaces for their clients.
App Developers - Developers building mobile applications or software interfaces may collaborate with designers to integrate illustrations that align with the app's branding and enhance the overall user experience.
I thought some aspects of this lecture were actually quite interesting, and it was good to find out about the usage of all types of illustration that is being used in ui design. I think it would definetly be something to consider using in my own work.
