In week 10’s class we looked at covering Accessibility and copyrighting, aswell as getting some help with the SDG projects that are being worked on.
Accessibility in UX design means making websites, apps, or devices that are easy for everyone to use, including people with disabilities. This includes helping people who have trouble seeing, hearing, moving, or understanding things. For example, using bigger text, making sure a screen can read everything aloud, or having buttons that are easy to click. The goal is to remove barriers so that everyone can use and enjoy the product.
Here are some common types of disabilities that might affect how people use digital products,
85% of Netflix users watch with the subtitles on. I usually never find myself using them but I think that using subtitles is a smart way to make watching TV more accessible, as there are so many people with hearing difficulties. It is also much more helpful if there is some movie or show character that is quite hard to understand when speaking and the subtitles are there to help translate it.
This was quite an interesting class as i got to learn about how important it is to consider the accessibility in UX design, also some of the statistics that came with accessibility including the one of 85% of people on Netflix watch with subtitles witch i thought was very interesting.
