Donald Davies
Donald Davies was a computer scientist from Wales and one of the pioneers of computer networking. He is best known for his work on packet switching, a concept that underlies the transmission of data on computer networks, including the development of the ARPANET and, ultimately, the modern internet.
He developed the concept of packet switching at the National Physical Laboratory in the United Kingdom. Packet switching involves breaking down data into smaller packets for transmission across a network, and it allows for more efficient and reliable communication.
Tim Berners-Lee
Tim Berners-Lee was also a British computer scientist who is best known for inventing the World Wide Web. Tim Berners-Lee made a groundbreaking contribution to information technology that revolutionised the way people access and share information on the internet.
